After a positive first month of trading, UPVC Maintenance Supplies were honoured to be joined by Gateshead’s Deputy Mayor; who agreed to officially open our newest Branch.
Councillor Jill Green braved a somewhat blustery day to join us in cutting the ribbon at our new premises on Team Valley Trading Estate in Gateshead. Councillor Green greeted those in attendance saying “It’s brilliant to see yet another company expand and open another location here in Gateshead”.
The branch first opened its doors on Wednesday 4th October, bringing 25 years of industry expertise to the window and door repair market of Gateshead and the surrounding area. “We have a number of long-standing and loyal customers in the North East: opening a branch in their area further cements our commitment to those relationships and we’re well on the way to developing new relationships as we’ve a lot to offer the marketplace” says owner and Managing Director David Earnshaw. Branch Manager Michael Savage is developing some great contacts with the local tradespeople: “There are a number of people who’ve been in several times already – and the word is certainly being spread around on our behalf”.
The three branches are supported by a hard copy catalogue, a comprehensive online shopping experience where customers can order 24/7 and a free technical helpline available in office hours. However it is these branches that really respond to customer demand “the ability for customers to come in wielding the broken or damaged part and be able to rely on our staff to provide the correct replacement is a key feature of our service. The fact that in virtually every case they get it there and then is an added bonus” David adds. “It also means we are well-placed to help the retail market: DIY is part of our culture here in Britain and we’re happy to offer guidance in our arena. We’re not just a trade supplier, we often supply members of the public as well” he adds.
UPVC Maintenance Supplies is a family-run business, founded in 1992 by David, who had previously worked as an installer, surveyor and Installations Manager for various large and small window companies around the UK to address an increasing need for UPVC window repair. David’s pedigree and reputation in the industry has driven the business forward over the years: from his first office in his garden shed; to a lock-up down the road to house an ever-growing inventory; to the company’s first official trade counter in Pudsey in 2005 the company strives to be close to its customers, and it is in response to this ever-growing demand that the company opened the Rotherham counter in 2012, and now Gateshead in 2017.
